馃 The European robin (Erithacus rubecula)
- Erithacus erithakos (Greek) unidentified small bird in
the works of ancient authors; erythros (Greek, lat.) red- rubecula ruber (lat.) red, reddish, rubeculus diminished. by ruber
It is hard not to recognize this bird - its red chest looks like it was painted with watercolors, and the look of its round black eyes is curious and almost friendly. Its song is beautiful, sounds rather melancholic and loud for such a small bird.
This little one arrives in the second wave, and appears in my city around the end of April. I often see them in the old cemetery and in the forest nearby. And surprisingly, this bird flies away quite late, around September, but there were cases when I met a pair in early November.
