πŸ¦‰ The common buzzard (Buteo buteo)

  • Buteo lat .: buteo buzzard

The buzzard is a master of patient waiting. Unlike the swift falcons, it prefers to sit for hours on a branch or roadside post, carefully scanning the area. When it notices movement, it takes off heavily, as if reluctantly, and tries to catch its prey.

The buzzard's main passion is mice. It is not for nothing that in some languages it is called "mouser". However, if the opportunity arises, it will not refuse carrion.

In my city, in the forest near my house, one pair nests every year. They usually have 2 or 3 babies. And while the parents are hunting, the young buzzards sit on the branches of trees and scream.
