🦉 The common sandpiper (Actitis hypoleucos)

I met this short-legged sandpiper near the river bank. This is actually their main habitat, but I have also met them in the steppe on flooded meadows, and even in a coniferous forest on a swamp. We call it a "carrier", and this is apparently due to the fact that the bird constantly flies from one place to another.

Their voice is something like a giggling whistle, which, I don’t know about others, but I find it annoying and unpleasant. These birds arrive around the first days of May, depending on the weather. And they fly away early, and you can't find them already in August.
