You will not confuse this bird with any other; it has a recognizable appearance. The male is distinguished from the female by brighter spots on the tips of the wings and tail.
They live, or rather nest, mainly in the coniferous forests of the northern taiga. With the onset of autumn, they begin to wander through the forests in search of food, gathering in large flocks.

From autumn to spring they feed mainly on berries, namely rowan, viburnum, and rose hips. And migrations depend precisely on the berry harvest. In winter, they can often be seen in city parks and courtyards, sitting on trees with these berries, or simply sitting on the very tops of trees, where they rest and try to bask in the sun.
