🦉 The citrine wagtail (Motacilla citreola)

• Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
• citreola lat .: citrus, citreus citrus, citreolus lemon color

In my region I have not seen these birds, only their closest relatives - yellow wagtails. This species prefers to live in damp, open spaces. Namely, I see them every year in flooded meadows in the steppe. I carefully approach them through the bushes and water, but they are too shy, unlike white and yellow wagtails.

However, after spending a lot of time there, the bird seems to get used to it and then it is possible to photograph it, and sometimes it even flies out of the bushes into the open space.
