馃 The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)
- Motacilla lat .: m艒to, m艒tare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
- flava flavus (lat.) yellow, gold, golden yellow
It鈥檚 the beginning of May, as expected, these birds have already arrived. Unlike its urban relatives - white wagtails, this species arrives later. Apart from this, they prefer to live in open spaces. Regarding my city, these are meadows outside the city near the river.
Surprisingly, these birds are not very afraid of people. What I mean is that they let you get closer to them than other wild birds. And if you spend a long time next to them, they will understand that you do not pose a danger and will walk next to you. This is what happens to me when I sit down to have lunch in the meadows, and they walk literally a couple of meters away from me.
