🦉 The black kite (Milvus migrans)

  • Milvus (lat) - kite
  • migrans (lat.) - migrating

These guys consistently arrive on April 2 or 4. And this year they were already in my city on the 2nd. And I even saw them in my yard. As a rule, they first appear in the nearest forests, and then in the city.

Despite their size and terrifying appearance, these predators are quite weak and cannot stand up for themselves. They are constantly attacked by other birds that are much smaller than them. And today, in the forest, I saw how one gray crow chased and attacked a kite.
