🦉 The common gull or sea mew (Larus canus)

In some cities these birds are familiar to people, but in my city it is a completely wild bird, not accustomed to people, living exclusively on the outskirts of the city near a large river.
They arrive at the end of April, even when there is still snow and ice on the river you can see single birds.
In the summer they fly over the river and catch fish, and by the way, it is worth saying that seagulls are not as numerous as other river birds - river terns.
And in August and later, you can see “bird colonies” on the islands of the river. Many seagulls gather together, and from a distance it looks a lot like a huge number of foam balls.
