🦉 The black kite (Milvus migrans)

In early spring, when even the snow has not yet melted, these birds are already arriving. At first they can be seen outside cities, then on the outskirts, and then in courtyards.
They fly smoothly, looking for food in the form of carrion and some leftover food near trash cans. However, they themselves can obtain live food in the form of fish, rodents or lizards.

Look closely at the plumage. The birds are always somehow frayed, tattered, sometimes there are no feathers on the tail. All this is because these predators are defenseless against smaller birds and are subject to attacks in every possible way. In particular, these are hooded crows and thrushes.
