🦉 The coal tit or cole tit (Periparus ater)

This is one of the smallest birds of this family (Paridae). Moreover, its behavior is slightly different from the great tit we are used to.
I see them only in the spring, at the height of the mating season. Males actively sing songs in forests, in any forest. But with the arrival of summer, most of these birds fly away somewhere, and only a few remain.

This tit has a tiny tuft on its head, which it raises when excited. She is also capable of storing food, or rather, storing seeds in the bark of trees. Which, as you can imagine, the great tit does not do.
Sometimes I see them in the fall, apparently they move in small flocks into coniferous forests.
