🦉 The great tit (Parus major)
- Parus (lat.) Tit
- major (lat.) large
I have been studying these yellow-bellied guys for many years and I notice that they are very underestimated. Sometimes it seems to me that they have a high level of intelligence on the level of budgies, but they do not seem to use its potential.
I attribute this to their communication, or more precisely, to their language. They have a huge number of sounds that they use for different events. These sounds can contain accents at several levels of distance (close contacts, further, medium distances, far distances). They also report an increase or decrease in the level of danger, also by several levels. Moreover, using all their sounds, they can make small phrases and sentences, for example, “I am here and it is safe here.”
