🦉 The willow warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus)

• trochilus trokhilos (Greek) is a small bird mentioned by Aristotle, later identified as "wren", but in Aldrovandus (1599) it is "a kinglet without a tuft"; trokhalos, trokhiscus (Greek) round, oval, curved, spherical; trochilus (lat.) semicircular, curved

In fact, this little bird is unremarkable; there is practically nothing to tell about it. It arrives at the beginning of spring, when almost all the snow has melted and insects have appeared. After all, it is an insectivorous bird.

Males beautifully sing mating songs consisting of melodic whistles. A bird of the lower tier of the forest, therefore it is looking for a future nesting place on the ground among the dense foliage of the bush.
