馃 The redwing (Turdus iliacus)
- Turdus (Latin) thrush
- iliacus ilia (lat.) sides, iliacus with sides (i.e. with red sides)
When spring is just beginning, the temperature rises and the snow is already actively melting, thrushes appear in the forests. But the fieldfare appears first, but a little later this species, white-browed redwing thrushes, appears.
They are smaller in size, have rusty shades on the sides of the body, and a distinct white eyebrow above the eye. They are more shy and difficult to photograph.
They also have a very strange song, which consists of different sounds that are quickly pronounced as if chaotically and at random.
Like all thrushes, they are capable of attacking any danger in the form of birds of prey or dogs that enter their territory. They can also call other thrushes for help, and thrushes of any species , not just their own.
