🦉 The citrine wagtail (Motacilla citreola)

• Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
• citreola lat .: citrus, citreus citrus, citreolus lemon color

I have never seen these wagtails in my city. However, every year in the steppe zone of the neighboring region I constantly meet them. These are probably the most numerous birds in these places.

In flooded meadows, birds spend their time wandering on the ground near the water, looking for insects. You can also often see them among the bushes growing there.
The bird is noticeably shyer than other species of wagtails, but if you spend quite a lot of time in this place and make it clear that you are not dangerous, the bird will get used to you and then you can get closer to it.
