In winter it is hard not to notice the huge noisy flock of these birds. They make raids on berry bushes and trees, and sitting down absorb the fruits whole. Mostly it is mountain ash, viburnum or small apples.

It is extremely rare to see them on the ground, probably on warm days when they come down to drink from puddles.
In early spring, they already fly back to the north. And they can still be caught even in early May, those who fly from the far south.
