Where we were supposted to get the results of the CT scan last Wednesday along with the implications on the potential surgery, it didn’t go as we had planned. The CT scan showed only a very modest decline in tumor size - so the oncologist was unable to tell us if it would be sufficient for getting surgery, let alone if the goal would still be to remove it entirely. Next to that the CT scan showed some areas that required additional research on metastases, as that would be a clear no go on a life saving surgery. We had to clear the agenda and yesterday we had the PET-CT that can provide this additional information. Hopefully there are no additional metastases and we stay on the curative route… we expect to get a little more information on these results next Wednesday (4th of November) but until then, uncertaincy, fear, hope and faith.
After our morning visit in the hospital today, I had some spare time to take care of myself and go for a short run.
I noticed that the stress towards Wednesday and the lack of real awnsers are weighting heavily on me. I really needed this short break today and I shed quite some tears during my run so I could return home a little lighter.
During my run, one of the songs I was listenting to was Roller Coaster from Danny Vera - that hit home quite hard and helped me to let go of some of the tension.
The run itself was simply beautiful, there was some mist, good temperature and basicly nobody around except for some sheep.
Hopefully next week we get some positive results 🙏
