Now, onto the drawing process!
Sketch/Lineart
I start with the lineart, of course. I had a sketch prior to this finished lineart but halfway through, I realized that I drew over the sketch line on the sale layer.
St*pid me, right? lol
Flat Colors
After sketching, I then laid out the flat colors. I used the same color palette from the card. I think it turned out okay. :D
Highlights
Now, onto the fun part! I created a clipping mask for each flat color. Then, I took a shade lighter from each and used that for the highlights. I'm not that good at making highlights yet so I choose a single light source and just guessed my way thru, lol.
Shadow and Outlines
Finally, the finished version~
I added shadows and thickened the outline a bit to make the illustrations pop.
I learned a lot working on this piece and I hope to get better and better in coloring artworks~
