Hello again everyone in @theanimerealm! This month we have an ongoing energy crisis and electric companies implemented a rotational brownouts almost every day, so I have to manage my time carefully because the schedule changes every week. Luckily, I made this fanart before the brownouts got worse.

Anyways, The character fanart that I made is from Frieren: Beyond Journey's End anime again and this time it's her apprentice. Her name is Fern, an orphan that was adopted by Frieren's friend. She was trained by Frieren when she was young and eventually became one of the party member on Frieren's Journey to Ende.

Her main spell is just a basic one which she excels very well and she can cast it very rapidly that it can overwhelm other mages. Also Frieren said that the spell is powerful enough in her(Fern) lifetime to defeat enemies.

I like how caring and protective she is to Frieren. Her cute expression when she's jealous or when she is praised. She is also very calm in battles, which, in my opinion her greatest strength.

P R O C E S S

Here's my rough sketch. I didn't bother cleaning it coz I wanted to paint the details to save time.

I added the base colors for the character and a rough painting of a pillar as the background.

I started adding some shadows and details on the character.

I proceed to paint background next so I can properly adjust the colors on the character.

Here I changed the look of the pillar and I added the blackhole.

I adjusted the color of the pillar coz I forgot that she was supposed to be in the dark.

I also adjusted the overall color of the character and started painting the base colors of her staff.

I started to paint the details, shadows, and highlights on the staff and I also fixed her hair.

I made some final adjustments on her hair, adding some highlights and more hair strands. I almost forgot to paint her hair clip, so I did a simple render. I also added a soft glow around the blackhole. And this is the final result of my painting.
