Greetings to all Hive users and SWC athletes! I hope you are doing very well and continue with the necessary focus to perfect each of your movements. On this occasion, I want to share an afternoon training session focused on the control and strength of the straddle planche.
Dear readers, consistency is the factor that makes the difference in any athlete's progress. Lately, the park has not been so full of people in the afternoons, which is actually uncommon, but those of us who keep our discipline intact continue training despite any obstacles and distractions. That momentary tranquility in the environment allows for much deeper concentration, something vital when working on statics that demand maximum muscle recruitment.
Taking advantage of the stillness of the park, I took my mini parallettes and set out to perform my straddle planche routine. Mini parallettes are an excellent tool for this type of work, as they allow for a more comfortable grip for the wrists and better force transfer. During the session, I performed straddle planche holds with presses, seeking not only to hold the position but also to control the vertical transition. I also performed tucked planche holds and planche lean push ups, exercises that are fundamental for strengthening the shoulders and core for more complex variations.
In each repetition, I made sure to keep the core activated and a solid scapular protraction. Planche lean push ups, in particular, are an excellent exercise for accumulating time under tension and preparing the joints for the load that the full planche entails. I leave satisfied with the work done, knowing that each solo session is another step toward mastery. At the end of the day, the true competition is with oneself and the ability to stay firm on the path, no matter who else is on the bars.
Without anything more to add, I bid farewell. Stay tuned for future posts! Until next time!
