It's good to know people before we conclude what they truly are or what kind of character they have, but people are fond of judging from a distance and they assume something about someone without knowing the person.
There are many things people assume about me but I don't take them to my heart because sometimes I know am not what they think I am, I must have said before in some of my posts here that in real life I don't talk too much but the kind of work do make me talk because I deal with ladies.
Anywhere you find two or three ladies, there must be something to talk about so automatically I don't have a choice than to talk.
One day I wasn't feeling like talking and I kept quiet while everyone in the shop was talking.
Two days after, one of them came to tell me that those ladies said am too proud for not contributing to what they are saying, but I wasn't surprised because right from when I was little some people have told me that countless times.
Another thing I noticed people assume about me is that am rich, I have money and I don't want to spend it.
The question is,
who doesn't like better things?
Who doesn't like to spend money?
Who doesn't like to buy a good thing for themselves?
When am not a slave to money but because of how I look people do think that I have money and I just don't like to spend meanwhile I don't even have anything in my bank account.
When I was learning to work, my boss ordered short trousers online and by the time she got them, they were too tight for her so she asked me to buy them from her.
I smiled and said, "boss I don't have money and she said why don't you like spending money? You have this money so spend it. I couldn't say anything and I was just smiling because that day I haven't eaten breakfast and I don't know what I will have for dinner.
I wonder what people think of me when they see me, my boss said she never believed that I don't have because I don't look like someone who doesn't have to her.
My question is do I have to say it to everyone?
Well, I don't think I should what I know is that I don't have and when people say I have I will just smile and say amen because they won't believe me even if I tell them the truth.
Even if I tell someone how old I am they don't always believe me so why talk when they have already concluded their minds without knowing me from anywhere?
3 things people assume about me mostly are:
Being Proud: when you are the type that doesn't talk anyhow, people will assume that you are proud meanwhile they don't understand that you don't have to talk too much to avoid saying what you are not supposed to say about your life.
And as for me I would rather take that as a compliment than talk out of control, you know the kind of work am doing people will tend to find your weakness to use it against you.
Already people assume that all hairstylists are prostitutes so why let them know more about you when there is nothing that can change their minds about you?
Rich girl: I wish am rich for real, people would have seen the difference between I have and I don't want to spend and I don't have am just packaging myself.
I don't like dressing anyhow because some customers don't care if you know how to make hair or not what they just want is how cute you look or how beautiful you are so I need to look presentable at all times and people in the area took that as being rich.
Young girl: in my family, we have small stature so this makes us looks younger than our age.
Even my mom is very small and smart which I love because sometimes big stature will just make you feel too old among your age mates but some people think once you have a small body, you are automatically a little girl.
One lady in my shop area always brags that she's a mother of two and her first daughter is in her husband's house.
One day she wanted to fill out a form which she doesn't understand some parts of it and she gave it to me to fill out which I asked her age then she said it.
I was surprised that she's just my age mate which means she gave birth at a very tender age while I was busy studying in school.
I don't blame her because that's how she was brought up that once you gave birth you are now older so she feels so big in the area that she is a woman and not a girl but I didn't let that bother her.
There are some other things they assume about me that I don't care about because I know who I am better than anyone else does and I never let their bad stereotype get into me, all I do is stay quiet while they keep saying anything they like.
