I never knew how much my phone meant to me until I nearly lost it last week, I was called for a home service while I was dressing up at home so immediately I dropped my phone I rushed out without knowing if I take my phone or not.
I got to where I usually take bike before I realized that my phone wasn't with me so I rushed back home to get it, meanwhile, my roommate and her friend who came to greet her were outside talking, so I asked her.
"Fola did you help to see my phone?" The two of them looked at eachother and answered, "We didn't see your phone,".
I went back to my room to check again and came outside again and said, "You people should stop this and give me the phone,".
Fola replied that she saw me with the phone while I was going outside earlier. My mind raced immediately after she said that and I rushed outside again to look for the phone on the road but I couldn't find it.
I have a touch light phone so I put a call through to the person I wanted to plait hair for so that I could get the address.
I went to the woman to plait the hair but while I was doing the hair my mind wasn't there and I didn't even know how I did everything without making a mistake, instead of going to the shop after I finished, I went back home because my mood was automatically down since I couldn't find my phone.
I was calling the phone with that other line with me and it was ringing but nobody picked up, I got home feeling sad and sick. I was on my bed lost in thought and sobbing while trying the number multiple times. After several times of calling, I was going to stop calling but I just wanted to try for the last time and someone picked up the call.
I ran outside to see if it was my roommate and her friend who was playing pranks with me but I met them playing ludo outside.
"Hello, please I am the owner of the phone," I quickly said immediately after the person picked up the call.
"Oh that's good, I am so sorry I didn't pick up since you have been calling, I was in the church and I couldn't receive a call," the receiver said.
"Thank you so much ma'am," I replied.
She told me to meet her at the junction where I normally take bike to get my phone back with 5k, I didn't have such an amount with me and I didn't hesitate to borrow the remaining from my roommate.
I got to the junction and I didn't find anyone there, my heart started to race again maybe the person wasn't going to give me back the phone because it is the latest Infinix phone and who wouldn't want to take such a good phone for himself or herself?.
Some minutes later a lady came out of nowhere and then asked behind me, "Are you the one that was calling?".
I replied, "Yes".
She asked again, "What is the name of the phone, and what is the color of the phone,".
I replied, "The phone is Infinix, it has a blue back color and it has a green pouch," then she knew I was the true owner, she gave me my phone back and I gave her the 5k.
The image belongs to me.
When I got home my roommate said they thought I was joking because they saw the phone with me. I felt relief after collecting the phone back because I don't know how I would have spent this holiday without my beautiful phone with me.
It was indeed something good because some people lost their phone and they never got it back like I did.
