I have been inspired by many people without them knowing about it. Some people are really very good in this life, and they can be nice to one another without anything attached. No sentiments, no expectations, no tribal stuff or whatever, just people being naturally good and serving humanity in a wicked world where many people don't care but rather are selfish about many things.
Recently, I told my sister many stories of how people have inspired me in this life. I gave her instances, and she was like, "Wow, really?" and stuff like that. It was a moment I encouraged her to be intentional about her life and live her purpose without copying anybody's lifestyle, and by so doing, her life will also be an inspiration to others.
I think I will talk about Mummy Chisom as one of those people who inspired me in this life. This woman is only a neighbor but is filled with kindness. She was passing in front of my house that year ago and discovered that we were packing out already to a new place . Although I informed her previously, I didn't remember to let her know the very day we would pack for our new house.
I was heavily pregnant then, and when she saw me lifting a load inside the vehicle, she rushed immediately, took away the property in my hands, and said I should relax while she assisted me due to my pregnancy. I loved that show of kindness, and it didn't end there. She kept checking on me after we had settled in our new house, calling, to know if I and the kids were okay.
Then one day, I had a few complications with my pregnancy that made the doctor force me to observe bed rest at home. This woman got to know about it and offered to assist me in buying things I needed in the market since I couldn't step out for months. She did it several times without accepting transport fare from me. I was just imagining the kind of human she is and got quite inspired by her actions. I know I mentioned this to so many people as a compliment to her lifestyle, and they too got inspired as well .
Honestly, this is the kind of inspiration good enough to copy and adopt, and I don't waste time copying her way of life whenever I can do similar things to other people.
Recently, a good friend of mine has been suffering from arthritis, a young mom of three boys whose husband is not always in the city. She called me to complain of how her little business is gradually shutting down because she can't walk around the market like before due to pains she is bearing in her legs. I was like, "This is an opportunity to come through for this one," and immediately I volunteered to shop on her behalf for whatever she needed to restock in her shop so her business doesn't suffer over her illness.
I remembered when I couldn't go to the market and that woman in my story stepped in for me, and I have to do the same for my friend suffering from arthritis; she was so happy and relieved.
So yeah, the inspiration I got from the woman years ago shaped my life positively, and to this date, once I see myself in a position to assist others in kind, I will do that without expecting anything in return; it feels unusual and fulfilling to see someone happy because of me.
