Attorney Bassey watched as his clients was all smiles while walking out of the courtroom a free man. The attorney wasn't a very religious man but even he knew it had taken the special grace of some spiritual powers somewhere for him to win this case.
Bassey had been in the courtroom when a certain man was brought before the judge. The man who Bassey later found out had no lawyer to represent him was charged with treason, and seeing how treason was a capital offense, the judge had asked if anyone would like to represent the man as his lawyer, a call Bassey had accepted.
After the man's arraignment, Bassey met with him and took his statements. He had later collected the phone number of one of the man's siblings, his brother, in other to inform him that he would be representing his brother in court. Whatever it was Bassey was expecting to hear from the young man wasn't what he heard as the man bluntly told him his services wasn't needed as he intended to get his brother a lawyer himself. Bassey had told his client what his brother said and the man had confirmed it.
The day for the court hearing came and Bassey had gone there to witness everything only for him to find out that the man's brother along with the lawyer they said would be representing him was no where to be found. The whole case would have taken a drastic turn if Bassey had not intervened. Few weeks into the case and everything was going smoothly for Bassey and his client until it was time for witnesses to be brought in, and that was when Bassey, along with his client got the shock of their lives. The only witnessed called to the stand was no other person but Bassey's clients brother, the same brother who had promised to come with a lawyer but didn't was the same person who was going to testify against Bassey's client.
The shock was so much that Bassey had no idea how he won the case, all he knew was that he did it and his client was now a free man.
