When it comes to the rule of law, there are some laws that I just can't help but feel are a bit one-sided, which really shouldn't be the case. A clear example is the case of having anything to do with a minor.
Firstly, I'd like to put it out there that I strongly believe that anyone who does anything with a minor, knowing fully well that they were in fact underage, should be arrested, locked up, and have the keys thrown into the deep sea.
But I had found out in a video I watched online a while back that even if a minor lied to you about their age, claiming to be older and even going as far as providing you with a fake identification card that supports their lie of being older, you'd still be arrested and face the full wrath of the law while the minor goes scot-free.
That one part of the law that just doesn't make sense to me, is the fake ID part. I feel it's not fair to anyone who, after making sure that the person they're with isn't underage, ends up going to prison just because the other person had been clever enough to provide a fake identification card to them.
As a matter of fact, I do feel that when a case like that happens, even if the adult has to go to prison, the minor too has to be arrested, tried, and sent to prison. And this is because of there's no consequences for their actions, for providing a fake ID and ruining someone's life, then what's stopping them from doing it again to another person.
The same goes for people who falsely accuse other people of rape. I genuinely feel that if the person being accused could provide substantial evidence, proving that they never raped that person and that the other person was lying, the person lying should be made to face the full wrath of the law.
And this again is so that people don't just wake up one morning and decide that they're going to accuse someone of rape simply because they hate that person and just want to ruin their lives.
