I used to do this thing where if I already knew the truth about a situation, rather than ask you about it and give you the opportunity to tell the truth or lie, I would just come at you straight with the truth because I always figured there's no point wasting time or playing games trying to see if the person would be honest or not.
Well recently, I started doing just that and it has fascinated me how much lie people tell over stupid things, I mean some of these lies are so unprovoked, that I wonder why they even tell them in the first place.
The other day, I had visited a friend at her home, and while we were discussing, I had decided to also pay her sister a visit. The visit to the sister was unplanned, but while talking to her, we found ourselves going down memory lane because it's been a very long time since we last spoke.
Only for me to find out during that conversation that her sister, my friend, had been lying about most of the things I thought I knew about her. Of course her sister didn't know; she had assumed that her sister always told me the truth due to how close we were, and I also made sure not to react whenever she said something that I totally had no idea about.
And as if that wasn't enough, the other day, in a gathering of friends, one of my friends had said something about being against dating a co-worker when we had asked him if he would ever give it a try. He had made it sound as if it were the last thing he was ever going to do, like a taboo. Meanwhile, he had earlier told me about how he had tried dating this coworker, but everything ended up not working out.
I was going to rat him out but didn't because I came to the conclusion that maybe them not working out earlier was what brought him to this new decision to never date a coworker.
But yeah, in these past few months, I've seen and heard a lot of stupid lies that are making me question a lot of things that a lot of people told me in the past.
