Today was one of those days that was a bit stressful, but it was the good kind of stress.
Like I had said in my previous blog, I had attended the cross-over service and got home around 1am in the morning, but didn't go to bed till around 2am, and that was partly because I felt I would have the whole of today to myself to just sleep and do whatever I wanted, but my dad had other plans.
He had woken me up around 8am and asked me to go wash his car before we all proceeded to the kitchen. My brothers were coming around for a visit today, so the plan was to prepare something nice for everyone to eat, and this was partly because this was the first time in three years that we all were going to be in the same room all at once, which was mainly my fault.
I've always been away from home, so being around now was a good time for my dad to gather us around to just hangout as a family. So, I spent the majority of my morning in the kitchen assisting, they knew not to leave me there by myself, because if they had done that, we probably would have had to order some food online to avoid food poisoning.
After the meal, my dad did what most dad would do, which was to seize the moment to advise us about everything that he could possibly think of. After that, I had a cleverly orchestrated ways to bill both of my elder brothers because today was a day when everyone was in a good mood, so it just felt like the right time to manipulate every one of them without having to put in as much work as I would normally do, and yes it worked.
After that we all watched some movies and football matches before they decided it was time for them to go back to their places and that was it.
So yeah, in as much as I spent the whole of my new year indoors (like I always do), today felt a bit different for me in a good way because I spoke more than I usually would, and I laughed more too. I obviously had a good time and I hope and pray that the most of this year goes like that too.
Happy new year, people.
