TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us and am starting to get used to December😹. I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto youtube and world cup too. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹. Today I have two stories from Africa. Lets start in Senegal where the parliament is trending after a male MP slapped a pregnant colleague, who violently responded by throwing a chair at him🙀.
Then more political shenanigans in South Africa as president Cyril Ramaphosa is facing impeachment after being accused of serious misconduct, he also failed to report the theft of a huge sum of money from his farm🙀.
Globally, the EU trending as they tentatively agreed on a Russian oil price cap, it will be purchased at $60 per barrel. This to help cut Russia's revenue so as to ease the war in Ukraine. Basically cutting money from Putin 😹.
Elsewhere in China, the protests turning out to be successful as the government moved to ease some of the restrictive covid measures😹.
Across the pond in the US, president Biden said he would be ready to talk to Putin about ending the war in Ukraine. Back in Russia, the Kremlin also said Putin would be ready for talks but under condition they stop giving Ukraine weapons and also recognise the illegally acquired territory in Ukraine 😹.
Down in Haiti, 60% of the capital is under the control of gangs🙀. Lots of people fleeing as kidnappings, murder and rape being the order of the day. Meanwhile there is also a shortage of food supplies and medicine.
Let's end with some football shenanigans 😹. Today saw some tough games at the world cup. Uruguay beat Ghana but unfortunately both teams will not make it to last 16🙀. South Korea on the other hand has made it after beating Portugal 👋.
Another shocker just now as Cameroon beat Brazil in the group match🙀. Meanwhile Switzerland beat Serbia. Am not sure if Cameroon will make it to the last 16 though.
