Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's yet another 24 hours to be grateful for. We are bang in the middle of the week and the stepping continued unabated. Time to slow down and fill you in on how my day has been plus what caught my eye 👀 in the media streets. Let's get it done, come on 💨.
I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃.In between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also in crypto.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going. The elections case is being heard at the supreme court and everyone is waiting for the verdict. Down in Angola vote counting is underway in closely fought election.
Globally, Ukraine was celebrating its independence day, there were reports of Russia hitting a train station killing 15 people 😱. Just what was feared to happen, six month anniversary of the war. Earlier in the day Zelensky addressed a UN security council meeting on the dangers posed by Zaporzhzhia nuclear power plant. The UN has urged an end to the senseless war. Across the pond, the United States has announced an additional package of military aid for Ukraine worth nearly $3bn👏💯 to coincide with independence day.
Also trending, in Thailand political shenanigans as a constitutional court suspended the prime minister😱. He earlier took power in a 2014 coup but there have been protests for him to go after 8 years in power.
Germany has inaugurated a railway line powered entirely by hydrogen, a “world premiere” and a significant step forward for green train transport. It is in Germany's lower Saxony state consisting of a fleet of 14 trains. Definitely a win for the environment👏💯.
