Hello everyone 👋,
Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. It's been another wonderful and active day: time has really flown and as it draws to a close, am raring to go with my stepping activities for the day and some of the trending stories. My app is still not working but as always thank you for reading and let's get going 💨.
So as usual I had two main walking sessions. First was the fast paced morning session, brisk walking and jogging around the neighbourhood🌲. It was a cold and cloudy morning, the cold spell usually ends in July but this year it has extended so much into August :crazy weather, I will talk about it later. After the morning walk I had some household chores then later in the afternoon a little bit of walking at the city centre. Still a cloudy day, no sunshine today.
I squeezed in my usual afternoon nap and then later in the evening I had the usual sunset walk, slow paced enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃 .
So what's been trending in the media streets? Locally the same post election political shenanigans😹 kept going. The defeated contender assuring his supporters that he was heading to the supreme court. Meanwhile the pronounced winner meeting his party members arranging to form the next government. However, he wont be sworn in until the case at the supreme court is completed 14 days from when it is filed. It should be filed by Monday. So we still don't know how things will turn out.
Globally, the war rages in Ukraine, Russia striking areas near the port city of Odesa and also in Kharkiv. NATO says there is an urgent need for IAEA to inspect the nuclear plant in Zaporizhzhia, there's a threat of a leakage disaster after it was hit with missiles, both Russia and Ukraine blaming each other😱.
Elsewhere, Turkey and Israel have agreed to rekindle diplomatic relations after years of bad blood. Remember in 2010, a Turkish ship was denied access to deliver aid forcibly to Palestinians, some Turkish sailors killed and since then things have been bad. Elsewhere, in the UK inflation is at its highest since 1982, caused by soaring food prices. Across the pond in Buenos Aires Argentina, large protests because of the high cost of living. Workers unions were out on the streets leading the rally.
Finally, in crazy weather lots to report. Flooding is happening in many places in the world form Sudan, France, India and even the in the desert in Las Vegas😱. Then there is unbelievable drought in parts of Europe, some rivers have dried up/ receded so much revealing "hunger stones" that were buried up to five hundred years ago. On top of that, the wild fires in Spain and Algeria are on again. Let's hope things get better but something's gotta give💯.
That's all I got, let's touch base again tomorrow on an amazing throwback Thursday ☺️. Stay safe, take care and good bye 💖💕💖 Hakuna Matata 😎.
