I woke up at 5 am this morning hearing lots of rain falling on the windows. Luckily I fell back to sleep, only to wake up at 7 am and find out a storm was heading our way. Storm Poly came to visit us in the Netherlands today.
My partner decided to go early to work this morning so he wouldn't get stuck in traffic and I decided to head outside in the garden to pick up some loose things and give words of encouragement to our plants. Especially to the rose bush, that we planted a month ago and hasn't rooted that much yet...
Here is the rose bush taking a beating... Most of my walking for this wednesday was confined to my own garden, mostly because it was impossible and dangerous to go anywhere else! I have a lovely hibiscus bush in the garden that is almost ready to start blooming and I saw it sway back and forth.
A short inspection showed that the hibiscus had swayed but luckily stayed as well, should be fine after just compacting the soil. However, the small and very cute tree that our neighbour has was not so lucky and went down fully.
Unfortunately both neighbours are on vacation and I am 37 weeks pregnant so I will not be picking up the tree, will wait until my partner gets home and see if he can still save the neighbours little tree.
Other than that it seems to be a wednesday that will be spend mostly indoors. It is pouring rain now so I think I will watch the Tour the France and stay snug inside. Hope you all had a bit more of a wednesday walk? And sure hope the weather is better where you are!
