My landlady's son and his wife are separated. His wife later got married to another man in the neighborhood and gave birth to two girls. Her previous marriage with my landlady's son was blessed with one girl and three boys, that is four children. After their separation, my landlady's son took his four children with him to Cross River and they lived there with him. He sent them to the local school in that community and also took responsibility for their feeding. His occupation was plant and animal farming of which he introduced his children into also. His ex-wife was also living her life peacefully with her new husband and children that she bore in this new home. So far, she has given birth to two girls for her new husband and is living peacefully.
Her new husband was already married to another woman in the community but got married to her as his second wife simply because he did not have a child from his first wife.

Life seemed to be going on smoothly until early August when my landlady saw her grandchildren once again. They came all the way from Cross River and informed their grandmother that their father (my landlady's son) asked them to come and stay with her for the holiday as their school had gone on the third term long break which was supposed to last for a period of about a month and three weeks. Grandma (my landlady) gladly welcomed them with all her heart and was so happy to see them after some years of their parent's separation and their travel to Cross River.

Although the holiday visit was a surprise to my landlady, she stood up, entered into her farm, plucked some afang leafs, killed one of her chickens and prepared a sumptuous meal for her grandchildren. They ate and enjoyed themselves. Everyone was happy. Days came and passed, weeks passed and grandma (my landlady) did not hear from her son. He was not sending money for little upkeeps for the children. The little my landlady had could no longer feed and sustain her son's children for a long time. The children started going to their mother’s house to eat most of their square meals. They entered the bushes to pick snails and sold some at the local market. They called their father (my landlady's son) to ask for feeding money and he told them that he did not have money.

School resumed and other children in the community had returned back to school but my landlady's grandchildren. They called their father via phone call and informed him that they wanted to come back to his house at Cross River, so they could return to school, only for the father to inform them that he doesn't have the money yet, that they should continue staying with their grandmother. Weeks passed and nothing was heard. Meanwhile, these children have been having misunderstandings with each other, the first and second son are fond of fighting with each other and their grandmother (my landlady) does not have the strength to separate them each time they fight with each other. These children seem to be growing too wild beyond a grandmother's control. I feel my landlady should package the children and send them back to their father at Cross River. Even when I gave her the idea, she said she did not have the money to fund their trip back.
