Following the frustrating meeting with the Worldmind, Peter headed to his quarters to decompress, but Rocket quickly summoned him. The team had landed somewhere new. As I stepped through the back door, I realized we were back in the Quarantine Zone. The rest of the Guardians were already gathered, waiting for me to join them.

The moment I set foot on the ground, I saw Nikki standing there. Peter was completely thrown off, as she wasn't supposed to be in this place. The confusion only deepened when Nikki looked at him and claimed that he had promised to get her out of there. The line between reality and memory started to blur.

Before I could process what was happening, this terrifying creature from the Quarantine Zone seemed to swallow Nikki. The environment began to fracture and warp around us, shifting into a chaotic nightmare.

A massive, powerful force resembling a black hole began to consume everything in its path. Gamora screamed for me to run, and I didn't hesitate. I sprinted alongside the gang as the ground beneath us was pulled into the dark void.

I was actually outrunning the other Guardians, but I could hear them falling behind. One by one, they were snatched by the force.

I looked around for Drax, hoping he was still with me, but the void was relentless. Eventually, he was taken away as well, leaving me completely isolated in the collapsing nightmare.

I kept running in a desperate bid for survival, but the logic of the world had broken. I started seeing the lost Guardians in a looping motion, being pulled in over and over again. It was a haunting, psychological torture that I couldn't escape.

I finally stopped when I heard the voice of young Peter echoing in the darkness, saying that "heroes don't run." As I stood my ground, the nightmare finally shattered.

It was a dream, or a vision. Drax was standing over Peter, but he wasn't himself. He was speaking with an unsettling calm about how Nikki was right and that his lost family would be restored through the promise. He had completely surrendered his will to the faith.

Drax loomed over Peter, asking directly if he had accepted Nikki's promise yet. Drax looked incredibly intimidating and scary in that moment, so I decided it was safer to lie and say I had accepted it. He started speaking to Peter like a close friend again.

The situation took a dark turn when Drax mentioned that the other Guardians might not be as enlightened as them and that he might have to eliminate them if they refused the promise. I had to step in immediately, pleading with him that they are family and we just need to give them a chance to understand.

Drax then revealed that we had landed on a planet to find the Matriarch. Peter was genuinely surprised and asked why, which was a mistake. Drax's expression hardened, he began to doubt if Peter had truly accepted the promise or if he was just playing along.

The doubt was enough for Drax to take action. He commanded Peter to stay in his quarters and then locked the door from the outside. He told Peter to stay put and practice his faith, leaving our hero trapped while the rest of the galaxy falls further into the Church's hands.

I'll show what happens next later.

I personally took all the screenshots from my play and I used a logo of the game from online to use in the thumbnail.
