I discovered an exceptionally long zip line before encountering a horde of infected. After eliminating aggressive human survivors with precise rifle shots, my journey took a painful turn during repeated failed jumping attempts, forcing me to retreat toward an alternate route to reach the transport side.
I just found a brand new zip line, which happened to be the absolute longest one I had discovered until that moment.
When looking closely, it truly looked like I was not actually hanging on the line at all; instead, I appeared to be floating seamlessly through the air. It was a remarkably cool glitch that the developers definitely should have looked at during production.
The great thing about this specific zip line was that I could use it for both ways, which proved to be incredibly helpful for sure.
Unfortunately, this entire place was heavily crawled with infected. While there was a ranger truck nearby that I could have used, I decided I was not going for it.
Suddenly, an infected spotted me, but I was not interested in fighting her, so I just focused on escaping the area. The infected were stationed almost everywhere, creating a highly hazardous environment.
As I pushed deeper, I wondered what this place was because it looked incredibly cool. I did not see any active infected immediately around the clearing, but there were some dead bodies scattered on the ground.
It looked like the bodies belonged to some soldiers, and they clearly got a terrible death. I was guessing it was the violent work of the beast.
Moving past the bodies, I noticed some living people ahead. A moment later, they successfully found me and opened fire. I had to use the rifle to take one down because he was moving way too fast.
I actually tried a crossbow bolt first before switching to the rifle.
Then, I wondered where the next man was. Thankfully, he was completely done for with a single headshot. It became clear that I could take down the people who were alive with a single bullet, though that tactic did not work on the infected.
Following the firefight, there was a strange glitch with the audio. I went ahead to search his body and obtained cigarettes, old world money, and arrows. The arrows would definitely come in handy, and I hoped I would find more arrows on the next man.
I was even able to collect the crossbow bolts that I used to damage him previously. Searching him revealed the exact same things, along with a bracelet.
I questioned myself what they were doing around here, noticing they left a stash bag behind. I checked to see what I could find inside and recovered dried fruits and dried meats.
I noticed a gap through the hills that I decided to pass now that I decided get to the transport side. But getting there was going to be a very long way because I would have to do a wall run, execute a swing, and then cross to the other side.
I tried but I failed the execution and fell straight down. To make matters worse, I had low health already, so I decided to try a bandage.
I did not know what happened there; I guessed I simply did not time the jump properly. I fell down a second time, leaving me wondering what was happening.
I decided to try one last time, promising myself that if I don't make it, I would just leave it. I leaped forward, but I fell down again, so I stopped trying and left it behind.
I tried another route to reach the transport site, only to realize the transport site was actually really close to me all along, meaning I had completely wasted my time running back and forth around there.
