But what developmental studies unmistakably show is that, at each level of our development, we actually see and feel and interpret the world in dramatically different ways. Each stage of our development has its own grammar, its own structure, its own map of the territory it is being exposed to. And these vary enormously, so much so that some developmentalists maintain that each of these different stages actually has or is a different world. But different they are indeed, and once you begin to recognize them, you’ll start to see them everywhere around you. So let’s look at these as an entrée into applying Integral Meditation to your personal development, because they will be part of what you will be focusing on with your mindfulness awareness, allowing you to see, most likely for the very first time, the hidden map or grammar or framework that is actually guiding almost all areas of your life without you even knowing it. Dependent origination of the Dharma realm: It is one of the fourfold dependent origination, and the principle of causality of the universe. This is the fundamental tenet of the Flower Adornment Sutra and Buddhist view of the universe, the truth Sakyamuni Buddha attained under the bodhi tree after six years of profound meditation. It also signifies the symbolic meaning of the Lord Indra's net. The One in everything, everything in the One, illuminating one another.
