True be told, AI is the not the enemy here. AI doesn't have intentions or morals to disrupt people's images. AI is a tool and can be controlled be the people using it. People can give them a command to something and AI will do it exactly.
Here, people decides to use AI to generate images and to humiliate images of real people without their consent. I'm saying this because I have used my Image and another person's image to merge without seeking my friend's consent and it was very very annoying to do that with him 馃槀馃槀. The picture was giving but he didn't like the fact that I used AI to merged the picture of me and him together. He had to jovially warn me to stop using AI to merge him. Mine was better and presentable.
Moreso, we are in the age where images of sexual content or post are created using people's picture and it will be flying online and the next thing, people or friends will be calling their attention to what they have seen online about their pictures and they will be shocked to see and the response will be like, "I don't know how this came about". Not knowing people can be dangerous to create such thing and which is very wrong and unacceptable. If people do not understand that AI can be used to humiliate others, they might think they are doing it to gain viewers or followers. Not knowing that it's people controlling AI to create such a thing on the social media, not the real people themselves.
Imagine seeing my naked picture of myself online, without knowing who posted it. It will not sit well with me. It will paint a bad picture in someone's mine that I'm not well trained. But the picture is being generated by another person that I don't know.
Let's try and minimize the way we use AI, it should be in the positive side not in the negative. It should be used to promote our identity, business, and many positive things, you can think of.
I remembered, how my brother used AI to generate his picture for his birthday. Immediately I saw the picture I knew it was AI because he gained weight in the picture while physically, he is normal in body size.
Therefore, we should exercise discipline over ourselves, consent from the people before we could use their image or picture something, and it must be meaningful.
