Pre-pandemic, I rarely go to the cinema to watch a movie. I love watching movies but I definitely could wait until I got free copies from my workmates. In fact, if I got the number right, I’d visit the cinema not more than five times a year. And these rare moments I've been in the cinema, it's either free ticket from work, a movie date with friends or I'm in a backpacking somewhere far from home and I'm in the mood to watch a movie alone.
When GB and I started to date, I could recall a few times he mentioned his love for movies. Although it ain’t the same now, I’ve heard stories that back in the day, he used to watch movies of different genres and would end up analyzing the plot, the characters, and everything in between. Well, I was more of the “Let’s chill and watch a movie!” And by that, I just watch, not taking note of the title, the characters, and certainly not analyzing the movie after I watch. Just passively watching. Unless I really love a certain movie, it wouldn't make it to my brain's limited storage.
My boyfriend and I never had a chance to try a movie date before the pandemic hit. Just recently, he asked me out for our first-ever movie date. He badly wanted to watch Doctor Strange in the Multiverse Madness. I'm not a huge fan of any movie (except Kdramas 🤞). Don’t judge me please but I couldn’t even distinguish Marvel from a DC. LOL! I just don’t care or there are other things I should pay attention to, these kinds of movies are just not one of them. But I do know I'm Nicholas Spark's girl or To All The Boys I Love Before fanatic, if you know what I mean. 😂 I'm not interested with this movie, I don't even have the slightest background of all the previous movies I believe I should've watched before this one but I still went with my boyfriend of course. I had to compensate for all the times he watched romcoms with me.
Before watching the last full show, I was craving something new for dinner. Aside from adventure, I also love gastronomical pursuits. On this particular night, I was craving Banh Mi. Yup, I have specific cravings all the time! Haha. In Cebu, there are two obvious options to get Banh Mi, Banh Mi Kitchen, and Phat Pho. We went to Banh Mi Kitchen this time. It was also my first time eating in Banh Mi Kitchen so I was definitely looking forward to it. I was more excited to eat than watch the movie. 😂
When I tried their traditional Banh Mi, it instantly became my favorite but because it's priced more than $3 for the full-length Banh Mi, I warned myself never to crave it ever again. Haha! We also tried their teas. It was so good that I wanted to eat more. I'll surely be grabbing other flavors real soon!
