I Love the lablab beans a lot and is actually my traditional food when is mixed with benesead and red oil.
But today, I don't have benesead in my house so I decided to mix it with rice to make jollof Rice.
I remove some from my other farm because they are dried already. These are actually not dried.
So I removed them, pilled them, and boiled them in water for about 2 hours.
These is because my fire is not that much.
These lablab beans takes more time to boil compare to the normal beans. But if your fire is massive, about 1 hours should be enough.
After am done boiling, I also per-boil my rice separately and set my ingredients ready.
It is said that "better food, nah money kill am" but I don't have any protein or much ingredients and the plan is to use what I have to come out with the best out of it.
(Well, the lablab beans itself is protein. Don't mind me 😊).
So for the ingredients, I only have:
Palm oil.
Peper.
Salt.
Maggi.
And that all. So I poured my oil in the pot and leave it to fry a little, then I added water and the rest of the ingredients. I again leave it to boil then finally, I poured in my rice and lablab beans.
I now wait for the water to evaporate, leaving my jollof Rice as good as seen.
Now here is the result after everything. It's taste so good.
I actually landed at these just because am not having benesead. I'll acquire it soon and share how we prepare my traditional food with the lablab beans. We call it (Ebeghme)
Thank you everyone.
