A death character for this week's contest! I actually used this card A LOT in the early days of Splinterlands.
Actually, the Twisted Jester was probably one of my favourite cards in the Splinter. And why? Well, with these stats, is there any doubt about the potential??
3 ranged attack at only level 3 (and you only need 5 cards in the beta edition, or 1 gold, to get it to this level)!
Starts with 4 health and immediatly goes to 5 HP starting at level 2 and more later on
Snipe ability and dodge at level 5
So in the early gameplay, with most of the cards at very low levels, this card is a beast! I still use it a lot in my alt account, and the reason I don't use it that often on my main is simple: death is probably my weakest deck. And my Jester is only at level 3! I still use a level 3 Beta gold foil!
I normally change quest when Death is my daily quest. But given that the Jester was the week's theme, decided to give it a go. And surprise... I got 5 wins in a row!! Some of them lucky, and one pretty close, as the one presented here. True, the battle was a little unbalanced, card levels wise; But... I was playing against Zaku!
Rule set: Aim true (all attacks hit their target)
With my deck it's almost impossible to play Death if I can't use a neutral tank. Luckily for me, I have Lord Arianthus! Since I don't have a healer, I was hoping it would stand long enough for my strategy to pay off: Sniper and sneak mode on! I normally don't use snipe and sneak together and focus only on one of them, but since the Assassin is a very fast card and it has poison, was hoping that that would cause some damage in the backline. And the prismatic energy was there as an off-tank, and to help reflect any magic damage.
The two snipers with decent health would be my main source of attack; and the debuffs from Zintar and Octopider would provide a 2 mellee reduction in the oposing team!
I must admit, as soon as I saw Yodin Zaku I thought it was a lost cause... but my deck stood strong!
Zafran was the first ranged in the opponent's team, and the snipers took them out right on the first round before he could attack.
But all the blasts took their toll; as the opponent took down the off tank and Lord A was barely standing, things weren't looking that great.
The Jester was still able to take down the beetle before Lord A finally fell, and in the first position, he gained a little more time... enough for the assassin to finish killing the last ranged opponent.
And with only the Serpent left, the Jester got the final blow... but made way for the assassin to finish the job!
So barely, a Death win! And the Jester was crucial! You can check the full battle here!
Twisted Jester fares even better with Selenia Sky. Together with one or two more snipers, they can easily win a game, if a powerful tank buys them enough time.
See you on the battlefield! 😉
