Time to take a break from all the latest events, and post with my favourite tag, which I haven't done for quite a while. So, straight from Cambodia... #featheredfriends it is!
All of these photos were taken visiting the ancient city of Angkor Wat.
And Angkor Do deserves a visit; all the ruins, the ancient buildings, they're just incredible! BUUUUUT... the birdwacher in me can't resist looking around and see what creatures inhabit these ruins and the nearby nature!
And the common mynahs where the first ones I noticed. They weren't particularly shy, roaming around the green spaces together with the hords of tourists.
Somewhere in the main palace, the one on the first photo, this little guy was peaking.
Now, this one, I couldn't identify. I searched, and there's even an Angkor Wat birds checklist! But no luck in getting a definitive identification. Any asian birds expert out there willing to provide some clue? 🙂
And for last, these ones were also easy to spot, because as all parrots... they're noisy!
The red breasted parakeets stood high in the trees, and these were the only "decent" photos i could take. I did saw a bunch of them flying, but too fast, and with too much trees to take decent photos. Still managed to catch the kissing couple, thow!
If travelling is your thing... put Angkor Wat on your places to see list; you won't be disappointed, even if like me, you prefer nature to civilization. And While you walk among the ancient buildings, have fun watching the animals too!
