馃 Siberian chiffchaff (Phylloscopus (collybita) tristis)
- Phylloscopus Greek: phyllon foliage, skopos seeker, observer
- collybita collybista (lat.), kollybist膿s, kollybos (Greek) money changer, small coin (name - for a song similar to the sound of falling coins)
- tristis sad, gloomy, mournful
These inconspicuous birds arrive in late April, or perhaps even earlier, depending on the weather. They inhabit mixed forests, city parks, and groves, and even nest in courtyards with large stands of trees.
The Siberian subspecies differs from the others by having a full-fledged song in its repertoire, which sounds slightly minor, while the other subspecies do not have a song as such at all.
