I just had to combine the gulls with the sunset, as it made sense to me.

I start with a sunset shot, and then you will see some flying sea gulls (4 shots). In the second half of the post, I wanted to show you how the sunset started (5 shots).

We have had cloudy weather these past days and on many of the days we couldn't even see the sunset. So, when I saw a chance to get a sunset it happened too soon, as I could not drive out to a high spot. So, I made a plan by taking the sunset shots in our front garden. I am getting very forgetful lately, as I know that the winter sunset times are earlier and now at the start of our summer it is much later, but my mind was still stuck in the winter times. Lol.

A friend told me that he recently saw a large flock of pelicans coming over and I also did a post with those same pelicans about 3 or 4 years ago. Maybe I will search for the post to show you again, but I don't know if I will be able to find it. Nevertheless, I will give it a go. Back to the present, I got the idea to combine a sunset with some gulls, and while I was taking the shots I also got some great silhouettes of other big birds in the late sky that I will show you in a post sometime.
Come and see.

This is the start of the gull shots, and I couldn't determine the species as they were too high.

My zoom certainly worked overtime, but it was worth it.

Now let's see how this cloud stream changes.

I watched that single stream of cloud above the tree.

And ever so slowly it started to change. Not only did the colors become more intense, but the cloud formation below the single stream also increased.

Then the top part of the stream started to come apart.

And everything started to take on different shapes.

I have shown you the tag picture, and it was supposed to also go in here after this shot, but I don't want to post double pictures. In any case, the show started to close down as you will see in the picture below.

A pity that I was too late to get to a high spot, where I normally take the sunsets from, but I think that you will agree that this one also looks good. Besides, I am now limited to travel around like I used to get the sunset above the ocean, as our gas (petrol) prices are escalating tremendously. All to do with the closure of the Hormuz Strait by Iran, and as the oil tankers cannot go through the strait, the oil prices are climbing by the day.

We don't have a big car, and our car is very light on fuel, but even that is not enough to ward off the increases. The orange man has also now blocked the Iran oil exports, and it sounds like a never ending story. I am not much into politics, but I can't understand why grownups cannot sit around a table to discuss and negotiate their issues. Just imagine how the poor people suffer to pay for transport, as due to the oil situation even food prices are increasing.
Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
