A gang here was watching my approach at the wetland!
Just a short morning walk here at a stream that flows behind a shopping center in the town of Somerset West in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.
The question today that we have to ask ourselves is if our children and their children will be able to see this in the future?
Or will it all simply die out?
A bird got this little guy and dropped him next to the stream!
He was dead and so I placed him on a flower!
I think that this Sacred Ibis had something to do with it!
Then it was back home and I got this visitor on a rock in our garden!
Little Squirry was waiting for a nut that she knows I keep in my pocket!
MR. Squirry was also waiting and he dined on the tree upside down!
This lady arrives every afternoon for a bath after a long day on her nest. The bird bath is a bit small for her and we are looking at getting a bigger one, especially as there will be babies around soon!
Of course the breeding pair of Rock Pigeons also visit the bath every day!

It is general knowledge that our world is in trouble. Severe trouble, as wetlands are converted into townships and farming fields. Many animal and insect species are becoming endangered. But do we care? No! Progress is the cursed name of mankind used to destroy all that they see.
Wetlands are the lungs of nature and they should be protected at all costs. We are already in trouble and fears are evident that we have already gone too far on our merry ways of destruction. Mining licenses are now being handed out here in protected nature areas! Anything for money!
Thankfully the communities are standing up and recently a mining license was withdrawn in the high court because of a protected area. It's a start and we should all get onto the bandwagon to stop this madness.
