The moth was doomed, as there was no way that it could get through that window.
It looked like a Bollworm moth (Helicberpa armigera), as its larva looks exactly the same as the ones that we get here on our lemon tree. He banged that windowpane consistently trying to get out into freedom. Just like that, I think that we as humans also land in situations like this. Everything that we do to escape from a bad event in our lives, and it always seems that to escape is impossible. But then something totally unexpected happens and the bad situation disappears.
It is written that miracles happen every day, and such is also the case here, as the moth had no idea about his escape. It came about in a human form, as I cupped him gently in my hand, and then took him outside to the delight of my wife, and she regards me as her hero lifesaver, even if it is only saving the lives of insects and birds in trouble. Lol.
Ever so slowly, I took the moth out into our front garden.
Then I knew that he would take a bit to get his breath back in the sunlight, as he really struggled to get through that window.
And this was the last, as the little guy flew away fast, right past my ear.
Here below I will show you a trapeze artist, meaning to walk on a tightline in the sky.
See that little dot between the two wooden beams. Now that little black dot moved, and the movement drew my attention.
Try as I might, I could not get this line of his web string on camera.
But yeah, you can see that he was very busy (3 shots below).
Here was the danger for that little spider, as I really hope that our resident Cape Robin-chat does not see him, as Robbie will be sure to eat him.
Danger is all around the world these days, as we get news everyday of violent attacks in our country. Now when I say violent, I mean real danger as here one has to tread very carefully and look over one's shoulder consistently. It is the same in the insect and other wildlife world, as they have the same habit to try and evade danger. But let me now not go any further about the discussion about violence, as I am sure that we all know it.
Thankfully no harm was caused to the insects on this day and we let them be, as they all play a role in the ecosystem. I don't know what role that little tightrope walking spider plays, but I guess it is some important detail. He might eat mosquitoes, and in that case, we will roll out the red carpet for him to stay. That's the one thing I can't figure out, as the pesky mosquitoes are known to carry diseases like malaria and dengue fever. So, let me just say that I am not very fond of mosquitoes, and I am sure that you are too.
Such is life.
