On Mandela Day here everyone is asked to spend 67 minutes to do good deeds for the poor!

We started early on our journey over the mountains!
Our destiny was this poor farm school.
They thought we had brought new hockey balls, as they only have six balls and they need another 15 balls.
But we had a bigger surprise so Marian and the principal rustled all of the 60 learners into a group!
Children are quick on the uptake and excited chatter exploded!
They for sure knew that something was up!

We are so thankful for those who have fought and still fight in this life for the freedom of others. Fighting for everybody!

And then I started to unload the boxes from our car. Sweets and toys for everybody!
Squeals of anticipation and happy smiles!
Ooh...toys for girls and for boys. Will have to wait for official breaktime!
A last gathering to show that everybody received a gift!
Another feat of creating happy little hearts, as we sprung a huge and happy surprise upon all of these little ones. And we enjoyed it just as much as they did. It was certainly time well spent and in three hours here this morning we brought much joy to the kids.
I don't often place posts about our work, as I don't want to create a sense that we are bragging about our successes, or that we saturate our charity blog in the hope of soliciting funds (pictorial begging)and that's why I rather place posts of my second love which is nature.
At Papillon we treat every day as a Mandela day and we do what we can to help others. We also have a few empowerment projects running in the background, most notably the free Trauma training for child workers and this project has now grown to 1117 graduates. I will sometime do a post about this valuable project.
To care for the children of today is to create better futures for all of them and no child deserves to go about sad or crying every day.
In fact each of us here on steemit can help to make their lives across the world better.
