"It's up to you..." my friend Oscar (El Whass) replied. It has nothing to do with sports or the activities you do in your daily life. Living is simply about respecting your true self and doing what you love as much as possible. I’ve known this man for about 20 years, and yesterday we celebrated his 70th birthday. He has a knee problem that makes it hard for him to do many activities, but luckily he can still ride a bike—and boy, does he do it well.

Vivir es simplemente respetar tu esencia, y hacer dentro de lo posible lo que te gusta hacer. A este hombre lo conozco hace aproximadamente 20 años y el día de ayer estuvimos de cumpleaños, festejando sus 70 años de vida. Tiene un problema en la rodilla que le dificulta realizar muchas actividades, pero por suerte el ciclismo lo puede hacer y vaya que lo hace muy bien.

Luego de hacer una hora de gimnasio en su casa, qué es de donde saqué la foto para la miniatura, que por supuesto gracias a géminis lo pude perfeccionar. Fuimos a una pizzería en ezeiza a pasar un rato con los más allegados. Mucho frío y neblina pero nada nos imposibilitada salir a distraernos un rato. Faltaron muchos de los que componemos esta gran familia ciclística, pero algunos pudimos llegar y con eso fue suficiente para pasar un gran momento comiendo ricas pizzas y tomando sabrosas cervezas. Until Trejo mentioned that we could continue the night at a place very close to Ezeiza, where his brother is the owner. We all said in unison, “Let’s go.” The theme of the night at the venue was to wear something related to the Argentine national soccer team, and they were going to dance exclusively bachata. How lovely it is to watch people dance bachata when they do it well, but how frustrating it is not to be able to dance it and simply have to settle for watching. The closest members of the team came to the conclusion that next year we’ll take a dance class. We need to move away a bit from cumbia, chamamé, and folklore in general, and start dancing a little more sensually and close together. We stayed until about 3 a.m., and then we went back because we had to train the next day.
Hasta que Trejo dijo que en un local muy cercano a Ezeiza, donde su hermano es el propietario, podríamos ir a seguir la noche. Al unísono todos dijimos: "Vamos". La temática de la noche en el lugar era ir con algo que tenga que ver con la selección argentina de fútbol e iban a bailar exclusivamente bachata. Qué lindo es ver bailar a las personas bachata, cuando lo hacen bien, pero qué feo no poder bailarlo y simplemente conformarse con mirar 🤣. Los más allegados del team llegamos a la conclusión de que este año o el próximo haremos un curso de baile. Tenemos que salir un poco de la cumbia, el chamamé, el folclore en general y empezar un poquito a bailar más sensual y pegadito. Estuvimos aproximadamente hasta las 3 de la mañana y luego volvimos porque al otro día había que entrenar.
This weekend also saw the passing of a great Argentine singer who is now recognized throughout Latin America—if such a term even exists. He has many detractors, but his music lives on and will continue to do so for a long time. Honestly, it upsets me when people start judging his religious and political beliefs—and even what are sometimes private matters—after his death. I prefer to focus on the art, and this person represented a part of our adolescence and, in fact, our lives in general. If you’re Latin American, you’ve surely heard a song by this artist at some point. He has hundreds of songs that are truly famous, and they were played constantly, especially at soccer stadiums. I was surprised that, being so young... I don’t think he was even 70 yet, he passed away and continued on his journey toward eternity. My humble tribute to an artist who was part of my adolescence and who truly filled me with energy every time I heard one of his songs. Este fin de semana también ha partido de este plano un gran cantante argentino reconocido, diría latinoamericanamente si existe la palabra. Tiene muchos detractores o tuvo, pero su música suena y sonará por mucho tiempo. Sinceramente, me indigna cuando las personas empiezan a evaluar, luego de su muerte, sus creencias religiosas, políticas y demás cuestiones a veces privadas, inclusive. Me gusta quedarme con el arte y esta persona representó parte de nuestra adolescencia y, en realidad, nuestra vida en general. Si sos latinoamericano, seguramente escuchaste en algún momento alguna canción de este autor. Tiene cientos de canciones que son realmente famosas y sobre todo en las canchas de fútbol se escuchaban en demasía. Me sorprendió que, siendo tan joven... Creo que no llegaba a los 70 años; partió y siguió su camino hacia la eternidad. Mi humilde homenaje a un autor que fue parte de mi adolescencia y que realmente, cada vez que escuché una canción, me lleno de energía. Coloqué un link de YouTube, aparentemente de su página oficial, para que conozcan parte de la obra de este autor.
Another great creator from our community has also returned recently, bringing her audiovisual content with her. También en estos días regresó una gran autora de nuestra comunidad propietaria, con su contenidos audiovisuales. Me gusta la frescura de sus personajes y sobre todo hacernos relajar y reír por tan solo unos segundos, creo que tiene mucho valor. Aplaudo el contenido original y el apoyo a los creadores que ponen el pecho frente a situaciones que a veces se hacen cuesta arriba. Gracias
And of course, we trained this morning. There was a lot of fog in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, but we still managed to get our workout in with our coach Gonzalo. The red color dominates my screenshot because of the high heart rate I maintained throughout the entire workout. Basically, it has to do with not going out these past few days, and you always pay the price for that. But the important thing is that we’re back on track, heading toward an event on August 2 that involves a four-person race. It’s harder to keep up with training in the winter, but since we enjoy it so much, we look for alternatives to stay immersed in this thing we love so much.
Y por supuesto, el día de la mañana de hoy se entrenó. Mucha neblina en la provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina, pero igualmente cumplimos con el entrenamiento junto a nuestro entrenador Gonzalo. El color rojo predominaba en mi captura de pantalla, debido a la frecuencia alta que manejé durante todo el entrenamiento. Básicamente, tiene que ver con no salir en estos últimos días y eso siempre se paga. Pero lo importante es que estamos de nuevo en camino, próximos a un evento que se realizará el 2 de agosto y que tiene que ver con una competencia que se corre de a cuatro. En invierno se hace más difícil mantener los entrenamientos, pero al disfrutar tanto hacerlo, buscamos alternativa para seguir inmersos en esto que tanto nos apasiona.
Zuni couldn't go out for his run today because of the thick fog, so he took the opportunity to put on his apron and cook up something truly delicious that we enjoyed as a family.
