This is a burger from a local scratch shop, made of soy chicken, pico de gallo, fried jalapeño, and spicy mayo sauce.
The soy chicken patty is made similarly to breaded and fried tofu, but tastes JUST like fried chicken, the real deal.
For those who don't know, pico de gallo is also known as salsa fresca, and is made of freshly diced tomatoes, jalapeño, cilantro, and white onion mixed with fresh squeezed lime juice and salt, and is hugely popular in my area. Pico, for short, is my favorite salsa and goes with almost anything, including tortilla chips, burgers, and burritos. I think most people know of
The flavor of this monstrous burger is due mostly to fried jalapeño, which is stuffed with white cheese before breading and frying. The majority of the spice of the jalapeño is fried out, so it's fairly safe to eat, even on it's own.
The spicy mayo sauce was made by mixing traditional mayonaise with cayenne powder, salt and lime juice.
Traditionally, this burger is served with bacon (pictured) and sharp cheddar cheese, but I ordered that off.
Overall, this burger is an 11/10.
