The first thing to drop was a box of Cracker Jacks.

“Fair enough” thought Jack. “I deserved that.”

The next thing to drop was a skunk.

That was a bit concerning to Jack. A skunk? Wtf?

Third came an old decrepit John Deere tractor, narrowly missing his brand new Audi, the one he had scrimped and saved for, for nearly half his life, just purchased and sitting proudly in his driveway so that anyone moseying past in their horse drawn carriages would see and envy.

When the cow came hurtling down from above, Jack had had enough.

He went inside to get a shoe for a weapon. He clamor-climbed up the beanstalk to confront the giant.

The giant was ready for him, in his cheese cellar, with the other shoe.

This is my entry to mariannewest@mariannewest's daily freewrite challenge. Today's prompt is cattle falling from the sky.

After the timer went off, I looked up the meaning of the phrase the other shoe.

As often happens with my freewrites, this one has layers of meaning I am not aware of. It's also a great first installment for a wewrite, if you ask me. Any and all takers will be rewarded, probably with hsbi. Thanks for reading, now go finish my story!
