Bullfrog looked up at Princess with cloudy eyes.
"Darling, you really must have those eyes looked into, and deeply."
"Why don't you do that for me dear. It's so very difficult for me to get up these days. I feel a terrible pain in my neck when I do."
"I'll be right there. Give me one moment to stretch a bit... Ugh, Oh! Ahhhh... There dear. Here I come."
Princess pushed up from her armchair using her right arm, her best arm; the rheumatoid arthritis had gotten the better of her left. She drew erect, all creaking and moaning and sighing and tiny laughs. Her steps were also tiny, at first. Princess made sure to stay close to solid objects that she could steady herself on this time. The last time had involved some bruising.
Thus went another trek over to the love of her life, Bullfrog.
Princess had always been Princess, but Bullfrog came by his name quite unexpectedly. Unexpected to him at least. Any reader of romance novels would have seen it coming from page one.
This is my entry to @mariannewest's daily freewrite challenge. Today's prompt is bullfrog.
I got all done with my five minutes of writing for today's freewrite prompt, and realized I'd only begun the story. Perfect for a #wewrite pop up contest! I then spent a great deal of time trying to make my story perfect, without changing the content of what I originally wrote. This is a freewrite that got a great deal of follow-up tinkering, well after the timer went off, truth be told. If you see a mistake (@carolkean), please do bring it to my attention.
I will reward anyone who finishes the story.
You may head any direction and distance in time.
More handsome rewards will go to entries posted in The Freewriters Community, hive-161155.
No deadline. Well, before I kick the bucket, if you want your reward.
