Nunnington Hall in Yorkshire by
@steevc
Steve, it’s great to hear from you! I was absolutely captivated by this post. The photographs are a visual delight, but I also really enjoyed the story you told about Nunnington and the details of your visit. I’ve discovered so many wonders of the UK here on Hive, I often wonder if I’ll ever get to see them in person, but even if that doesn't happen, I always find something interesting here.
That wooden toilet must have been quite a luxury back in the day; in fact, it still looks great. I also loved the trophy room, the rugs, and those small musical instruments. You mentioned that the owners of homes like these often couldn't afford their upkeep, and I’ve seen many such places across the UK, but it’s wonderful that they are now museums where people can get a sense of the history, as well as the architecture and design of that era. It’s truly a marvel, at least for someone like me who loves appreciating homes like these.
Let's go at Hive again. Blogging again by
@zakludick
Welcome back, Zak!
At the current HIVE price, nobody will get rich; that's for sure... 😃 If it goes up, those who were accumulating on "bad days" will have a chance to cash some out...
And the reasons for creating on HIVE? Personally, I have multiple... It's a good way to "vent out" (mental health), share frustrations with others, and realize that others struggle like me, which is therapeutic... 🙂 Engaging with others in the comment section is a nice way to make new friends... Sharing my experiences on some topic (or life) can be useful for others... All in all, I see only benefits!
Memorable TV Commercials [YouHive Theme] ESP/ENG by
@victor2356
You’ve brought along some spectacular adverts that really defined an era. In the first case, I have to say that the advert is catchy in what it says, and it’s no surprise that everyone learnt it by heart; they’ve come up with a very good slogan that people will remember.
In the second case, the fact that it features a little girl and is set at Christmas time means that this sort of advert would surely have sold very well, and the idea of reinventing it by creating the second advert years later whilst alluding to the first is very ingenious. Furthermore, there’s a key factor, which is the family. Those adverts are even more successful, at least at that time of year.
The last advert is perfect, and as you say, relaxing.
El agua, escasa y vital/Water, scarce and vital (Esp-Eng) by
@kpoulout
Whilst I was reading your post, I was thinking that much of the world doesn’t even know what life is like in Cuba, and more specifically in Havana. I haven’t experienced it to that extreme, but I have experienced water shortages, low water pressure, and water that comes out brown and even contains something that in Argentina is ant poison, as well as algae and other things that make the water undrinkable. The excuses are always the same, but the city’s oldest water pipe is over 100 years old and has never been maintained. That’s partly why I know what it’s like, it’s exhausting, stressful and leaves you feeling utterly powerless.
I also sincerely hope that the situation will turn around and that Cuba will be very different, with a dignified life for everyone.
My visit to the monochrome painting exhibition at the School of Visual Arts (Eng - Esp) by
@belkyscabrera
It’s wonderful to see so many incredible pieces by the art school students, so varied in style, yet all monochrome. The drawings are excellent; the jesters, in particular, have such quality in their facial features, the expression lines, the eyes, every detail has been captured perfectly. There are also so many of them that one could easily pick out favourites.
I’m really glad you went to that exhibition; they’re the sort of thing I like best. What’s more, you’re helping to promote the work of all these young artists in your own way.
🎵 Hive Open Mic 335 - “Love Me Tender"🎵 - LO QUE NO SIRVE SE BOTA - ORIGINALSONG by @ramonpaez by
@ramonpaez
What a fantastic piece you've shared with us in this edition, 100% original. Congratulations, and thank you for choosing Hive Open Mic to showcase it on the platform. I would have loved to hear someone singing the lyrics, as the harp's instrumental part is a delight, or at least to have the lyrics shared below the video; perhaps for the future. For now, we are more than happy with the stunning sound you achieve with your technique.
