In chicken parliament the chickens of one party crossed the floor when voting for a bill.
"Why did you cross the floor?" her party asked.
"To get to the other side." said the chicken.
"Do you mean to get to them? Get at them? Infiltrate their ranks?"
"No," said the chicken, "I am interested in the road map to peace, and you can't travel a road without crossing a road. I wanted to get to the other side."
"The other side of what?" her party wondered.
"This room." said the chicken.
"Is there a dark side to this room? A covert side? A side beneath the mask of play-acting?"
"I'm not sure about those sides," said the chicken, "but there's a window on the other side and I wanted to sit in the sun for a bit and lay an egg."
God bless the chickens and their parliament!
